National Activities
National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) 2010 will be held from 29 August to 4 September.
NLNW represents a collaborative approach by the Australian Government and the school community to highlight the importance of effective literacy and numeracy skills for all children and young people.
The Week gives schools the opportunity to get involved in a range of activities and to recognise locally the achievements of students and the work of teachers, parents and members of the community who support young people to develop stronger literacy and numeracy skills.
All schools are invited to register to participate in the following National Literacy and Numeracy Week 2010 activities:
• National Celebration of Literacy - creating and sharing digital stories
• Fit for thinking - Reach for the Stars - linking numeracy with health and physical activities
All schools that register are in the running to win great prizes.
